Stress connects with our bodies hormones that we use for survival, but unlike the past, now in today’s society, it’s something that encompasses life’s many responsibilities instead of just staying alive. So how do we manage stress appropriately?
HANDLING STRESS APPROPRIATELY WITH AWARENESS AND GUIDANCE
TREATMENT PROCESS
Minimize Your Stress
Stress doesn’t have to be something that weighs on you, but can also be a motivator. However, helping clients together in and them practicing skills outside of sessions can really assist in the management of stress.
With assistance in therapy, individuals can utilize skills to gain an awareness of what exactly the stress is serving a function for, how to notice bodily changes when stress is starting to rise, skill-building to minimize unnecessary stress, and how to incorporate those learned skills in or outside of sessions.
Self-Care
Self-care activities including a simple massage can really ease some of the muscle tension and induce relaxation, thus minimizing stress. Or maybe just a walk along the water to help ease the mind’s busy thoughts.
